HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Happy Friday to you all.....and Patrice. LOL I am so happy today is Friday, but I also can't wait to get off work. Do you have any special plans for this weekend? Well...I PLAN on completing the sewing project that I have not touched in over a week. Whether right or wrong, it will be completed. I actually stopped sewing due to a little sewing malfuction...I don't know how to sew on the sleeve!!!! Lawd help me!! I told you it would be a trial at error, this would be error # 2 on this SAME patter and this is only the top. Let me just say this, I think if I ever decide to actually wear this outfit..my best bet is to bring a back up set of clothes (Not funny). Below is the pattern that is not so so difficult, so I don't know why the top is giving me a pain. I am completing the top and the pants.

This is the top...yup with that line down the middle. I have no clue why I decided to cut it when I clearly read and understood to cut it on the fold. Well..ummm..I decided, that ain't really what they meant..cut the fold out...

NOW, off to what I know...Aaron has obviously gotten tired of watching me scrapbook and decided he wanted to use a pic of him and his best friend to do a page for his room. They are best friends but they are so formal, they call each other by their whole name, too funny. Anyway he has completed his page and I think he is done doing this for life...Now, I was kinda iffy on the "BFF" he put at the top, I think that's a girly phrase. But he insisted, so there you have it.

Okay last item to talk about. I helped my girlfriend with her little girls birthday party. Alex is such a cutie and so very sweet. I competed a page for her room and made her a bubble gum machine (yup, pictures of that will come later). I have made so many of these things it's crazy and people still ask for more. Anyway here are a couple of picks from Alex's party.

Updates, Promise Broken and Other Ramblings

WARNING: SEMI-LONG POST

Hello e-peeps!! To update you on the Publix bakery ordeal...I sent a e-mail to their corporate office. I was just a little too pissed to let it go. Anyway, the manager at that location contacted me and informed me that she has reprimanded ALL of the bakery department employees including the person that took my order. She also informed me that the worker that called me about there not being a cake for me --LIED. She stated that even though the cakes had not been made she still could have gotten the order completed in time. In return, to try to make up for this mess, she gave me a $30.00 gift card and asked me to give them another chance and by doing so, my next cake order will be handled by the bakery mgr and it will also be free. Now, not to sound ungrateful; I totally appreciate the gift card and the free cake (if I order), but you know, when you are planning a party/special occasion if a mishap happen you can't undo the memories or the lack of. But it is nice that the store manager handled this situation.

Though, I hate that shirt he had on and I don't like pinning cash on people, but hey you get what you get. Our close friend had taken him out for the day so they were dressed very casual. Don was like, that's why he was driving me around in the car like a dead body all day. That was funny. Okay, just a little side note on my attire. That IS NOT my bra sticking out of my sundress. It is though fashion gone wrong!! I should have searched a little harder for a tank top with ruffles on the shoulder, that would have been cute..rrrr. I hate I wore it because on all the pic it kind looks like a bra, everyone at the party was surprised I wore something like this (too much skin for me) but they loved it.

Okay, on to sewing. Yup, I still have not down loaded the pics. Promises promises, okay, again I promise tonight, tonight--yeah! But of course I decided to make my own rules...ignore what the pattern say:) I've said it before, this is trial by error. LOL


I have though be getting down on my scrapbooking. I've been a scrapbboking, layout creating, card making, high school senior memory making, bookmark tryin fab-u-lus mom this here week...whew!LTH (Laugh'n too hard). I have even been bringing this stuff to work...working on it only on my break times 'of course' hehehe. I will take pics of this and show you later. Well, I guess I should go now and start on my mini baby book for my brother...oooo sorry, get busy on my work..yeah.

The GROOVE of things

YES!!! I am trying to get back into the groove of things...I'm ack'n a little like I have A.D.D. can't just do one thing at a time. Anyway, My husband's surprise party was great! YAY!! Even though he did not have a cake (Thanks Publix). He was so very surprised, he almost cried. He could not believe all of his friends were in on it and had known about it for so long. I will down load the pics later (I left the cd at home). Anyway, it was a blast!! He is still talking about it. I made him a personalized cd, the first song was a dedication from yours truly to him, Chrissette Michelle's Love is the rest was a mix of his favorites like Omar Cunningham and Sam Cook.

Anyway, I have started on another sewing venture, and a venture it is (updates will come tonight). I have also created some birthday cards and am beginning on some post cards. I have also, pulled out my beads to start on a necklace and bracelet I have been meaning to make...like for the past 3 years. Good thing beads don't go bad.LOL Okay, I guess I should now go back to doing my work. I don't have any of my creative juices with me today to make this a fabulous blog. I do feel the urg to start making something out of the items on my desk, just not in the mood for doing my work.

"D" Day

Well, today is THE day. Four more hours to go before the "SURPRISE" party. I (actually we - my partner's in crime) almost got caught. My husband decided to stop by their house, the place the surprise will take place. Now that was a surprise, off Nikki and her son go running with a table she was decorating. THEN...here I am about to leave my parents house with the food to take to Nikki's house and call it intuition, I decide to give my hubby a call and see what he is up too. Good thing I followed my "first mind".
**UUGGGHHH** Publix just called me to inform me that they JUST found my cake order and all of the cake decorators are gone!!! Okay, now I have no CAKE!! IDIOTS!! This is ONLY the second time the Publix in Hueytown has done this. And get this, the lady tried to offer me a free cake on TOMORROW!! Can you believe that. That's like taking out life insurance after you have died...right. I will be contacting management about this issue, but unlike baseball, I will not wait for a third strike. I can not believe they have made this mistake. I knew I should have gone to Edgars Bakery, plus Edgar's cakes taste better. Well, I better go now since I must find a cake at the last minute. I am so angry now!!

The day I FINALLY Blogged!

I don't know why, but I have been so very nervous about this "blogging" thing. Well, here goes...
First, I have been SOOOO excited about planning my husband's surprise birthday party. It will take place this Saturday. Believe it or not, he has NEVER had a birthday party. I know I know...why have I not done this within the 10+ years we have been together. Well, he is usually out of town this time of year with the construction company he works for. The first time I tried to give him one...well let's just say the surprise was on me. LOL This year is different, they do not have to go to TN, so this is going to be wonderful!! For some reason it feels like we are getting married all over again - YAY!! I will post birthday pics Sunday.

Okay, other happenings in my life. Currently, I am scraping my nights away. I have so many projects going on and for some reason they are all gifts for my friends kids. I have about three framed scrapbook pages to complete by Monday (yes, I give most of my projects deadlines). I am also going to start on a new skirt pattern tonight (forgot the pattern number, will update tomorrow). Please pray that this one come out somewhere CLOSE to perfect.
