The Fruits...Vegetables of Labor

This year we decided to plant a garden. Yup the Walton's planted a real garden this year. Well all did not fruit too well, due to a surprise frost. Then there was the wonderful herb garden I HAD on my deck that you can easily see from the window while you wash dishes..I forgot about the herbs and the sun burned them up:( I did though use some of my rosemary, thyme and a little of the cilantro. I will redo these herbs this week, there is nothing like fresh herbs!

We planted watermelon, cantalope, squash, corn, mild green onion and medium green onions, white onions, collard greens, cabbage, romaine lettuce, tomatos, okra, carrots, radishes, cucumbers and green peppers. What we got out of the garden: cabbage, romaine lettuce, tomatos, white onions, under developed corn, cucumbers and carrots, about 6 squash and two broken hearts. This year was not the best year. Two years ago we had so much produce, we started to go sell some on the side of the road. LOL

Then came a cake...a very chocolatey cake that didn't last but a day and a half. My SIL loved it so much she wanted me to bake another one for her..maybe she will get it for the 4th. I think I baked this cake for mother's day, can't remember. But it was good thanks Adrienne!

My Baby is Now a Young Adult...

I am proud and sad all at the same time. Where did the time go? How did it pass by so fast? *tears* Karohn will be attending Troy University in the Fall. We visited Troy about two weeks ago for new student and parents orientation. WOW, how he fit right in..made my heart weak. Wish I could take 10 years back and have that little boy again.

The campus is still very nice and clean.....till you get to the alumni hall..of course that's where my child will be living for a year and a 5 month..yup I'm counting down the time till he becomes an upper classman so he can get outta that nasty spot. But don't worry, momma got you...409, clorox, mr clean..did i say clorox..mmmmm yeah!

Yeah, I know these pictures shoulda been turned around..but I promise they look better this way. I'm going to send my child to school in a bubble, he is safer that way!

Moving on...

For the graduating kids, I made some quick and simple cards. The card in the front center was so large it didn't fit in the envelope. So what do you do in this case when you are rushing last minute..stop by Walgreens and grab a box of chocolates and add it to the box with your own ribbon..yup sure did and used a glue dot for the gift card so it wouldn't get lost..WHAT?

And a senior layout for Karohn:

I actually did two LO's for him but he took the first one and posted it on his wall. So I had to do another one..I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it..I'll get it though.

Then I completed a LO for myself..YAAY. Mind you this was taken at my birthday gathering in '08 at the Steel. It's never too late, I have pictures of Aaron when he was like ummm maybe two that are set to be completed by weeks end.

I seriously need to get a new camera...this flash could wake the dead and the zoom is awful!

Okay, that's all for now..
