About a week ago, I did a twitpic of my inspiration board..no reason other than the fact that I was wanting to craft but was stumped. I just couldn't gather exactly what I wanted to create. Mind you I have a list of "To Do's" for a 6 month period, so it's not like I had nothing that NEEDED to be completed.
Anyway, it prompted a conversation about inspirational displays and how various crafters keep their creative flow in mind. Me, I'm a visual person..think of the saying "Out of sight Out of mind" that saying holds true. If you can't see it, you will forget it..the vision of art will not be there.
Ahh...my inspiration board. It's actually serves as a home decor and fashion board.
Also, in my book I will keep pictures of items I have sewn and maybe a copy of my review of the pattern. I'm new at this sewing thing, so I'm very sure I will tire of maintaining 'The Book'. But as for now I love it and I'm keeping it. When I do get tired of using this book, I'm sure it'll be a fond memory to look back on.
*ALERT BAD PIC*
This board is for accessories only, necklaces, earrings, clutch, etc. I don't have much on here, I guess because I haven't seen much lately that was appealing to me. I have not touched my beads in a while, I keep looking at them but haven't made anything yet..gotta work on that:-)
My creativity is sometimes odd..I have been traveling and seen the colors of maybe the sunset peeking thru the trees and it will inspire a LO. I can see a funky or ugly even skirt or dress and it will inspire me. Inspiration is all around, you just have to be open minded enough to see it:-)
How/Where do you keep your inspiration? What prompt's your creative spirit?
Ahhhh right now my inspiration is coming from new fabric, but I still haven't sewn ANYTHING. I have an inspiration board that I change with the seasons.
ReplyDeleteMy board is sitting on the floor of my very cluttered studio but that board of yours is very inspiring and it's so you! Where did you get your tutorial on zippers?
